Services

Non-NHS services

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:

  • Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
  • Insurance claim forms
  • Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
  • Private sick notes
  • Vaccination certificates

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our secretarial staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.

Please be aware that Non-NHS services will not be treated with the same priority as NHS work and as such the wait for medical appointments will be longer. It is also unlikely that another GP will undertake this work if your own GP is on holiday.

Cryotherapy clinic

We only offer Cryotherapy for Solar/Actinic Keratosis.

Diabetic clinic

Clinics are carried out by the doctor, practice nurse and in-house pharmacy team at regular intervals with diabetic patients in order to prevent long term complications of the illness.

Child health checks & Immunisations

Child health checks and immunisations are provided at regular intervals by the doctors, health visitors and the practice nurse. The screening checks monitor growth, development and the wellbeing of children. It is very important for children to be immunised against childhood illnesses. If you have any questions about immunisations, please discuss them with your doctor.

Family Planning Advice

Family planning advice is provided by all of the doctors and nurses at the practice and covers advice and provision of the range of contraceptive alternatives available.

NHS health checks

NHS Health Checks are conducted by the healthcare assistants for both men and women and are for patients between the ages of 40 & 74 years of age. The health check is designed to look at your risk of developing heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease and how by taking early action now you can improve your health and can prevent the onset of these conditions.

Asthma Clinic

All of our Nurses hold weekly clinics for patients with Asthma & COPD. We encourage all patients to attend these appointments so that we can ensure your Asthma or COPD is well controlled and that you are on the most effective treatment. Our nurses attend regular training sessions to maintain and expand their expertise in the treatment and management of respiratory diseases.
